Education Program Director at The Retreat

Helen Atkinson-Barnes is an experienced professional with a diverse background in education, real estate, and prevention education. Since November 2006, Helen has served as Program Director for The Retreat, leading outreach education programs and developing curricula on healthy relationships and violence prevention for schools and community organizations. Prior to this role, Helen worked as a Real Estate Agent at Prudential Douglas Elliman from March 2007 to January 2011, assisting clients with buying, selling, and renting homes in the Hamptons. Earlier career experience includes serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts, where Helen designed and taught courses in English Language and Literature and Communications. Helen holds a Master of Arts in English Language and Literature with a focus on Women's Studies from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor's degree from Princeton University.
