Eric Icard

Eric Icard has over 20 years of experience in business development and economic development. Eric currently holds the position of Senior Director of Business Development at The Right Place, where they have been since August 2021. Prior to this role, they served as a Senior Business Development Manager at The Right Place from July 2015 to July 2021, and as a Business Development Manager from July 2013 to July 2015.

Before joining The Right Place, Eric worked as a Program Manager at the National Center for ISR Development from May 2012 to July 2013. Eric also served as a Sr. Business Development Officer at the Grand Forks Region Economic Development Corporation from February 2010 to July 2013.

Eric's expertise in economic development and international business also includes roles such as Associate Director, Center for International Business and Economic Development at Troy University from May 2009 to December 2009, Vice President of Business Development at the Greater Fargo Moorhead Economic Development Corporation from March 2003 to February 2005, and Project Manager, Business Development at the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce from January 2001 to March 2003.

In addition to their professional experience, Eric has a strong background in business development, including recruitment of primary sector companies, coordination of financial incentive programs, and the implementation of outreach programs. Eric has also played an instrumental role in facilitating partnerships between research universities and private industry.

Eric Icard pursued their higher education in the field of Economic Development. Eric obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Economic Development from the University of North Dakota, which they attended from 1996 to 2000. Following this, Eric pursued their Master of Science (MS) degree in Economic Development from The University of Southern Mississippi, attending from 2000 to 2001.

In addition to their formal education, Eric Icard also earned two certifications. Eric completed the "Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate" from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education in May 2021. Furthermore, Eric holds the designation of "Certified Economic Development Finance Professional" from the National Development Council, although the specifics of when and where they obtained this designation are not provided.
