Dr. Richard Schroeder has a diverse work experience spanning several roles in the education industry. Dr. Richard is currently serving as the Chief Education Program Officer at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Institute. Prior to this, they worked as a Partner at The Center for Model Schools, a division of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.

Dr. Schroeder's experience also includes their role as a Senior National Director of Assessment and Analytics at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishing Company. During this time, they transformed departments responsible for customer success and financial performance, leading to a significant increase in new customers. Dr. Richard also co-led the team that developed a learning platform allowing customers to merge various data sources and track performance impact. Additionally, they innovated and installed subscription-based modules through the learning platform to support teachers, leaders, and parents.

Prior to their role at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Dr. Schroeder served as the Chief Academic Officer/Superintendent at Rockford Schools, where they provided leadership for all academic components of the school system. Dr. Richard has also held positions such as Executive Director of Assessment, Accountability, and Strategic Planning, as well as Interim Superintendent at Aurora East School District 131.

Earlier in their career, Dr. Schroeder worked as a Principal-Secondary School at North Shore School District 112 and as an Elementary School Principal at School District U-46. Dr. Richard also served as an Educational Leadership Consultant at FranklinCovey and as a Teacher-Grades 6-8 at Barrington School District 220.

Notably, Dr. Schroeder was also the President of the Barrington Area Education Association from 2004 to 2006.

Throughout their career, Dr. Richard Schroeder has demonstrated a strong commitment to education and has held various leadership positions in the field.

Dr. Richard Schroeder holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Educational Policy and Organizational Change/Leadership from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Richard also obtained a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration/Organizational Change from the same institution. Prior to that, they earned a Master's degree in American History (United States) from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Elementary Education and Teaching, with a focus on U.S. History, from Northeastern Illinois University. Additionally, Dr. Schroeder has obtained additional certifications including Fierce National Trainer from Fierce, Inc., National Board Certified Teacher from Barrington Public Schools, and Safe and Civil Schools Trainer-CHAMPS, PBIS from Safe and Civil Schools.
