Animesh Chatterjee

Animesh Chatterjee is a Consultant General and Renal Physician at Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand since 2017. Prior to this, they held various roles at The Royal Australasian College of Physicians, including Director of Physician Education, Clinical Examiner, Fellow, and Advanced Physician Trainee. Animesh also worked as a Basic Physician Trainee at the same institution. Animesh Chatterjee has served as a Clinical Senior Lecturer in Medicine at the University of Otago since 2017, where they teach and supervises medical students. Animesh is a member of the Internal Medicine Society of Australia and New Zealand (IMSANZ), where they were part of the organizing committee for the 2018 IMSANZ Annual Scientific Meeting and presented a talk on contrast nephropathy. Animesh Chatterjee has extensive experience as a Renal Advanced Trainee Registrar at various health boards in New Zealand, including Auckland DHB, Counties Manukau Health, Waikato District Health Board, and Hawke's Bay District Health Board. Animesh has also worked as a Senior Medical Registrar at the Hawke's Bay District Health Board and as a Medical Registrar/Senior Medical Registrar at the Southern District Health Board. Animesh Chatterjee has a background in clinical lecturing, having served as a Clinical Lecturer in Medicine at the University of Otago from 2009 to 2012.

Animesh Chatterjee completed their Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Distinction at the University of Otago from 2000 to 2006. Animesh also obtained a Bachelor of Medical Science with First Class Honours from the same university between 2003 and 2005. Animesh then went on to attend The Royal Australasian College of Physicians from 2008 to 2017, where they earned a degree in General Medicine / Renal Medicine and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. Animesh obtained additional certifications including Provisional Registration in 2006, General Registration in 2008, and Vocational Registration in Internal Medicine in 2017 from the Medical Council of New Zealand.
