Dr Gonzalo Tapia-Rico

Dr. Gonzalo Tapia-Rico is a highly experienced medical oncologist currently serving at Icon Group since September 2020, with roles at Icon Cancer Centre Adelaide and Icon Cancer Centre Windsor Gardens. In addition, Dr. Tapia-Rico holds the position of Deputy Director of Ashford Cancer Centre Research and is a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Adelaide, involved in teaching medical students. As a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Dr. Tapia-Rico has also contributed to medical oncology research through previous roles at Royal Adelaide Hospital and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Earlier experience includes senior specialist registrar positions in medical oncology at NHS Lothian and Cambridge University Hospitals, alongside a medical oncology consultant role in Spain. Dr. Tapia-Rico earned both a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery and a Doctor of Philosophy in Internal Medicine from Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
