Richard Thorpe has extensive experience in finance, governance, and public service. Currently serving as the Council Portfolio Holder for Finance Assets and Governance and a Local Councillor for the Liberal Democrats at the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames, Richard chairs the Audit Governance and Standards Committee and is a Director of the Cambridge Road Estate Joint Venture LLP. Richard's roles also include Deputy Mayor at Accounting for Sustainability (A4S) and membership on various boards such as the ICAEW and the Public Interest Oversight Board (PIOB). Additionally, Richard is pursuing a doctoral degree in politics at Birkbeck, University of London. Prior experience includes positions at the IFRS Foundation, the Financial Stability Board, and the Financial Services Authority, complemented by an educational background in Global Politics and English from Birkbeck, University College London, and Emanuel School.
