Hannah Wilson has a diverse work experience in the field of horticulture and conservation. Hannah started their career as a florist at Helen James Flowers in 2003 and worked there until 2015. Afterwards, they worked as a horticulturist at The Hutts Himalayan Garden and Sculpture Park from 2011 to 2015. In 2015, they joined the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh as an MSc student, and later transitioned into a PhD candidate from 2016 to 2021. During this time, they also held the role of an indoor horticulturist for the Biomes Project from 2021 to 2022. Currently, Hannah is serving as the Head of the International Conifer Conservation Programme at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.
Hannah Wilson completed their education history with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from the University of Glasgow, which they pursued from 2016 to 2021. Their area of focus during their doctoral studies was Herbarium genomics of New Guinean Begonia.
Prior to their PhD, Hannah earned a Master of Science (MSc) degree from The University of Edinburgh in 2016. Their field of study during their master's program was Taxonomy and Biodiversity of Plants.
In 2011, Hannah obtained their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree from the University of Warwick. Their major during their undergraduate studies was Mathematics, which they pursued from 2008 to 2011.
