Michael Cheung

Director Of Cardiology at The Royal Children's Hospital

Michael Cheung has an extensive work experience in the field of cardiology and research. Michael is currently serving as a Professor at the University of Melbourne since October 2020. Prior to this, they held various roles at The Royal Children's Hospital, including Director of Cardiology and Consultant Cardiologist. Michael also served as the Acting Chief of Surgery from November 2022 to July 2023. Michael has also worked as a Group Leader at Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI) since July 2011. Before joining these organizations, they worked as a Staff Cardiologist at The Hospital for Sick Children and as a Specialist Registrar at Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust. Michael also worked as a Clinical Research Fellow at The Hospital for Sick Children.

Michael Cheung attended King Edward's School in Birmingham. Michael then went on to study at the University of Bristol, where they obtained a BSc., MB ChB, and MD degree in Medicine. In 2018, they pursued further education at the Melbourne Business School, completing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 2019.
