Mumtaz Patel

Vice President, Education And Training at The Royal College of Physicians

Mumtaz Patel has a diverse work experience spanning multiple organizations. Mumtaz is currently serving as the Vice President of Education and Training at the Royal College of Physicians since August 2023. Prior to that, they held the position of Vice President of Global from September 2020 to August 2023 at the same organization. Previously, they worked as the Director of Progress and Conduct at the University of Liverpool's School of Medicine starting in November 2018. Mumtaz also served as the Postgraduate Associate Dean at Health Education North West from January 2016. In 2007, they joined the Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a Consultant Renal Physician. Additionally, Mumtaz Patel held the role of Clinical Lead for Quality at the Joint Royal Colleges of Physicians Training Board from September 2016 to September 2020.

Mumtaz Patel completed a Master of Science (M.Sc.) with Distinction in Medical Education at The University of Manchester. This degree was obtained between 2011 and 2014.

Prior to this, Mumtaz Patel pursued a PhD in Medicine at The University of Manchester from 2003 to 2006.

Further back, Mumtaz Patel attained an MBChB (Honours) degree in Medicine from The University of Manchester, spanning from 1991 to 1996.
