Julian Balaam

Julian holds a Master’s Degree in engineering from Cambridge University and has more than 35 years’ experience in commercial aircraft marketing, management and finance. Following a number of aircraft sales and marketing roles within British Aerospace, Airbus and Bombardier, Julian was one of the three founding Directors of Skytech, an independent aircraft leasing company and service provider that has been successfully in business since 1993.

Julian is a member of the Board of Directors of the International Society of Transport Trading (ISTAT) and has served as a Trustee for two charitable organisations that provide humanitarian relief flights and educational grants to university students wishing to enter the world of aviation. He is also Treasurer of his local (very small) Parish Council.

As a new member of The Royal School’s Local Governing Body, Julian plans to bring his business skills, marketing expertise and strong interest in sustainability to assist the school’s leadership team as it develops and implements plans for the future success of the School, its staff and its pupils.
