Ian Wainwright

Ian Wainwright is an experienced project producer and educator in the theatre industry, currently serving as Project Producer at the Royal Shakespeare Company since September 2010, where Ian led the flagship community project Open Stages. Prior to this role, Ian was the Director of Education at Bristol Old Vic from September 2005 to August 2010, responsible for revitalizing the theatre's education and outreach programs, benefiting over 18,000 individuals. Additionally, Ian held the position of Young People's Director at Watford Palace Theatre from September 2002 to August 2005, where Ian established the Hertfordshire County Youth Theatre and directed youth productions. Earlier experience includes serving as Head of Education at Stephen Joseph Theatre from September 1996 to August 2002, where Ian created the theatre’s first Education Department. Ian holds a BA Hons with QTS in Theatre from North Riding College (Leeds University), obtained between 1990 and 1994.
