Jano van Hemert is the Director of Data Services at EPCC at The University of Edinburgh, where Jano oversees high-profile and high-value data services programs. Jano also leads the Edinburgh Data-Intensive Research group in the School of Informatics. As an Honorary Fellow, Jano contributes to research and education at the university. Jano is a Fellow at the Royal Society of Edinburgh and a Senior Member at IEEE. Jano's past experiences include roles at Amazon, Scottish Funding Council, Optos, and various research positions at universities and research institutes. Jano holds a PhD and MS in Computer Science from Leiden University.
