Michael Swanson

Michael Swanson currently serves as the Divisional Mission Integration Manager for the North and Central Illinois Division of The Salvation Army, a position held since September 2023. Previously, Michael held the role of Territorial Mission Integration Manager for The Salvation Army USA Central Territory starting in February 2022, and served as the Divisional Social Services Director for the Salvation Army Heartland Division from June 2015 to February 2022, where responsibilities included establishing and implementing strategies for social services. Michael also served as the Regional Coordinator for the Pathway of Hope program, focusing on developing local leadership and implementing a strengths-based initiative for at-risk families from October 2012 to February 2022. Earlier experience includes working as a Social Worker at Hartgrove Hospital and as the Director of Social Services at The Salvation Army. Michael holds a Master's Degree in Mental Health Social Work from Loyola University Chicago and two Bachelor of Arts degrees from Greenville University.
