Kim Fountain has a diverse and extensive work experience in the non-profit sector focused on supporting and advocating for the LGBTQ community. Most recently, they are the Deputy CEO at The San Diego LGBT Community Center since May 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Chief Administrative Officer at Center on Halsted, the Midwest's leading LGBTQ community center, from September 2016 to April 2022. Kim also held the position of Executive Director at Pride Center of Vermont from October 2011 to September 2016. Kim has had various roles at NYC Anti-Violence Project, including Deputy Director, Associate Director of Education and Public Advocacy, Education, Training and Outreach Manager, and Volunteer Coordinator, between 2000 and 2010. Additionally, they worked as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Pace University from 2000 to 2010. Kim started their career as a Volunteer Coordinator at the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center in 1999. Overall, Kim Fountain has a strong background in management and leadership roles within LGBTQ organizations and a commitment to supporting and empowering the community.
Kim Fountain has a PhD in Anthropology from The New School, which was obtained before 2005. Prior to that, from 1986 to 1990, they attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst and earned a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology and Women's Studies.
