Silas Valentino

Silas Valentino is a seasoned travel editor currently employed at SFGATE since February 2022. Prior to this, Silas held the position of managing editor at 36 Media, LLC, where responsibilities included launching a lifestyle magazine focused on the Bay Area Peninsula and overseeing editorial operations. Silas gained valuable reporting experience at Point Reyes Light, covering local government and education, and contributed to the Village Voice, reporting on the New York City music scene. Other notable roles include music journalist at Emerald Media Group and radio disc jockey at KWVA Eugene, coupled with internship experiences at Eugene Weekly and Oregon Daily Emerald. Silas holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Oregon and is pursuing further education at Universidad Nacional de Rosario.
