Annie Gaus

Annie Gaus is a seasoned journalist and editor with extensive experience in the media industry. Currently serving as Senior Editor at The San Francisco Standard since May 2021, Gaus has played a key role in building the newsroom and managing award-winning coverage of politics, government, and business. Gaus also founded Public Comment, an independent news source focused on San Francisco's economy and politics during Covid, which merged with The San Francisco Standard. Previous roles include Business Reporter at Bisnow, Tech Reporter for TheStreet, Senior Writer at Airbnb, and Technology Reporter for the San Francisco Business Times. Gaus has contributed to various notable publications, including The Guardian, Vice, and The Daily Beast. An educator as well, Gaus has taught writing for electronic media at San Francisco State University. Gaus holds a Master's degree in Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts from San Francisco State University and a Bachelor's degree in English from Oberlin College.
