Lauren Savino

Lauren Savino started in the alternative investments industry in 2011. She began working for a Commodity Trading Advisor ("CTA") that managed a volatility strategy with approximately $250 million under management. Lauren initially developed a marketing plan to grow assets in the institutional space, but through relationships with investors and consultants, she determined that the strategy was not positioned for success. With a small team of three executives, Lauren developed a business plan to register an affiliated entity and launch a mutual fund offering of the firm's strategy. Lauren created all of the marketing collateral, implemented a CRM system, produced strategy commentary, and acted as a strategy expert for prospective client meetings. Lauren negotiated and managed relationships with third-party marketing firms, but ultimately, the firm built its own internal sales force to distribute the mutual fund offering. By identifying the appropriate target market, Registered Investment Advisors ("RIA's"), and executing a defined marketing and distribution plan, Lauren and her team grew firm assets to over $1.4 billion.

Additionally, Lauren led product development at the firm. She conducted market research to determine the largest areas of product demand among RIA's and aligned that demand with the Portfolio Team's skillset to create a pipeline of new strategies and products. With the investment team, she designed an equity alternative strategy and filed for a new mutual fund.

Today, Lauren has used the knowledge that she gathered at the CTA to help other alternative investment managers develop marketing and distribution plans that optimize their growth potential.

Lauren is a CAIA charter holder and an active member of the CAIA Chicago Chapter. She is also an active member of Women Investment Professionals, 100 Women in Finance, and the Chicago Room to Read Chapter. She holds Series 3, 7, and 63.
