Alistair Thompson

Alistair Thompson is a seasoned procurement professional with extensive experience in the public sector, currently serving as the Commercial VFM Programme Manager for the Scottish Government since October 2021. In this role, Alistair leads a commercial efficiency program that has achieved nearly £8 million in financial efficiencies. Prior to this position, Alistair worked as a Procurement Consultant within the same organization, and as a Senior Consultant for Turner & Townsend, where strategic procurement initiatives were developed for significant projects. As the Director of ALT Procurement Ltd since July 2016, Alistair has supported third sector organizations in meeting regulatory procurement requirements, delivering best value through tailored procurement processes. Alistair's career began at Scottish Water, encompassing various procurement roles that laid a solid foundation for expertise in commercial and collaborative procurement. Alistair holds a BA Hons in Social Sciences from Napier University, obtained in 2011.
