John Keenan

John Keenan is a Senior Policy Manager with the Scottish Government since July 2021, overseeing the implementation of commitments from the Scottish Funding Council’s Review of Tertiary Education and Research in Scotland. With a background in environmental sustainability as the Environmental Sustainability Manager for the Glasgow Colleges' Regional Board, John has also served as a Skills Strategy Manager at CITB, where responsibilities included developing strategies for the construction sector and establishing stakeholder networks. Prior experience includes leading the Opportunities for All Action Plan at North Lanarkshire Council and serving as Principal Teacher of Work and Enterprise at Clyde Valley High School. John holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Glasgow and a PGCE in Secondary School Education, Mathematics from St Andrew's College.
