Michael Walker

Michael Walker is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in public sector financial management. Currently serving as a Senior Finance Business Partner at The Scottish Government since November 2017, Michael supports decision-making regarding resource allocation with a focus on economic development, international trade, and corporate services. Previously, Michael held roles including Senior Consultant at Caledonian Economics, advising on PPP social infrastructure projects, and Manager at Grant Thornton, where the focus was on the education and health sectors. Michael's foundational experience began at PKF as a Business Adviser, working with public sector clients, and advanced to the role of Trainee Business Adviser. Michael holds a Diploma in International Public Sector Accounting Standards and is a Chartered Public Finance Accountant, with an academic background in Politics from The University of Edinburgh.
