Sean Torrens

Head Of Skills, Directorate Of Offshore Wind at The Scottish Government

Sean Torrens is an experienced policy manager currently serving as the Head of Skills in the Directorate of Offshore Wind at the Scottish Government since February 2020, following prior roles in the same directorate focused on offshore wind policy. Torrens also held senior policy management positions within the Chief Nursing Officer's Directorate at the Scottish Government and served as a Policy Assistant for media and communications at COSLA, where responsibilities included communicating policies to various stakeholders. Additional experience includes an internship at Renfrewshire Council and a role as Participation & Development Officer at BEMIS Scotland, facilitating community engagement and partnerships for economic stakeholders. Academic qualifications include a Master of Arts in Politics from the University of Dundee and a Master of Science in Political Communication from the University of Glasgow.
