Satire Writing Instructor at The Second City

Amy Estes has a wide range of work experience. From 2007 to 2013, they worked as a Teacher in the Lodi Unified School District, teaching English to students in grades 7-12. Amy also participated in district-wide writing rubric training and trained their English department. From 2013 to 2018, they worked as a Teacher in the Rocklin Unified School District. In 2015, they briefly worked as a Yoga Teacher at CorePower Yoga.

In 2018, Amy started exploring different roles. Amy worked as a Freelance Writer for BKA Content from June to August, and then as a Writer for ZenJoy and Cash Show from March to July. From July to December, they worked as a Marketing Assistant at BenBella Books.

In 2019, Amy worked as a Freelance Writer, focusing on writing humor pieces and personal essays for various publications including Belladonna Comedy, Slackjaw Humor, and PULP Magazine. Amy also created content for sites such as Livability.com specific to Sacramento, CA.

In 2018, Amy began their teaching career in the San Juan Unified School District, where they worked as a Teacher and an English Teacher.

Most recently, Amy has been working as a Satire Writing Instructor at The Second City since November 2020.

Amy Estes received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from California State University-Sacramento, which they attended from 2003 to 2005. In 2016, they enrolled at Brandman University to pursue a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and Administration, which they completed in 2017. Additionally, they obtained a certification in 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training from Zuda Yoga in April 2013.
