Dewi Minden

Musical Director & Sound Designer at The Second City

Dewi Minden has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. They started their career as an Assistant to the Director and Music Instructor at Avenue Road Arts School in 2001. They then worked as an Associate Producer at CBC/Radio-Canada for a few months in 2003. Following this, Dewi held the role of Conductor/Music Director at various production companies from 2003 to 2006.

In 2006, Dewi became the Executive Director of The Music Gallery, where they served until 2009. They then transitioned to the role of Manager of Community Relationships at Inner City Angels and Mariposa In The Schools for a brief period.

In 2010, Dewi joined the Toronto Arts Council as a Special Projects Manager and Communications Specialist, eventually taking on the role of Executive Assistant. They remained with the organization until 2014 when they became the Director of Operations and Managing Editor at the Inuit Art Foundation until 2015.

From 2016 onwards, Dewi worked as a Composer and Head of Audio Production at The Animation Playground and as a Musical Director and Sound Designer at The Second City. Their most recent position has been as a Music Operations Manager at Humber College since 2022.

Overall, Dewi Minden has a wealth of experience in music operations, audio production, and arts management, with a focus on community engagement and cultural organizations.

Dewi Minden's education history includes several academic achievements. In 1994, they started their Bachelor of Music degree at The University of British Columbia, specializing in the School of Music. This program lasted for four years and concluded in 1998. They then pursued further studies and obtained a Masters of Music degree in Music Performance from Université Laval from 1998 to 2000. Following this, from 2000 to 2003, Dewi Minden enrolled in the University of Toronto for a Masters of Music (abt) degree, focusing on Music Composition. In 2012, they participated in a specialty course named Foundations in Cultural Planning at The University of British Columbia. Lastly, from 2013 to 2016, Dewi Minden completed a Certificate program in Communications at George Brown College.
