The Second City
Sean Sykes has a diverse work experience in the field of music education. Sean started their career as a Teacher at Paducah Public Schools in 2003 and worked until 2005. From 2005 to 2016, they served as a Music Teacher and Band Director at Francenter, where they taught various music programs to students of different age groups. In 2006, they joined Second City as a Musical Director and has been working there ever since. In 2019, they also worked as a Piano Teacher at Band For Today. Currently, since September 2020, Sean Sykes is employed as a Music Teacher at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools.
Sean Sykes attended the University of Mississippi from 1999 to 2003. During this time, they pursued a degree in Music Education with a focus on Vocal Training, Musical Theatre Opera, and Elementary Education.
