Michael Marnewick has a diverse work experience in various roles. Michael was the Chief Writer for The Sharks (Pty) Ltd since 2019. In 2018, they worked as a Book Author for "The Clive Barker Biography: 'Coach.'" From 2016, they served as an Author for "Steve Tackles Life," a book aimed at providing relatable life stories for young readers. Prior to that, Marnewick worked as a Freelance Writer, CRM Manager, and Social Media Manager for The Sharks from 2015. Michael held positions as the Multimedia Manager and Chief of Operations at MMVII since 2007. Marnewick also served as a Website Editor for the Sharksrugby website starting from 2001 until 2015. Additionally, they worked as a Sports Presenter for Radio Life & Style Ballito in 2014, a Co-Author with Dr Henning Gericke for Inspiring Champions from 2013 to 2014, and as a Sports Information Director for BizNews.com in early 2014. Finally, Marnewick was appointed as the International Media Manager for The Sharks from 2008 to 2013.

Michael Marnewick attended Glenwood High School from 1982 to 1986. Michael then went on to study at the University of KwaZulu-Natal from 1987 to 1990, where they earned a Bachelor of Social Science degree. Their field of study at the university included Psychology & Industrial Labour Studies.
