Spencer Bailey

Spencer Bailey is a seasoned editorial professional with extensive experience in the publishing industry. Currently serving as Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief of The Slowdown since May 2019, Spencer also holds the position of Editor-at-Large at Phaidon and Contributing Editor for Town & Country at Hearst Magazines. Prior to these roles, Spencer was Editor-in-Chief at Surface Magazine from September 2010 to May 2018 and contributed to notable publications such as The New York Times Magazine and Bloomberg Businessweek. Educational credentials include a Master of Science in Journalism from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in English, Creative Writing from Dickinson College. Additionally, Spencer has fulfilled a teaching role as a Visiting Faculty Member at the School of Visual Arts.
