The Society for the Advancement of Psychotherapy
Stewart E. Cooper, Ph.D., ABPP currently serves the students at Valparaiso University as Director of Counseling Services and as a Professor of Psychology. He also is the head of Life Enrichment Associates, private organizational consultation, and individual psychotherapy practice. Dr. Cooper is the author or co-author of five books, seven book chapters, more than one hundred journal articles, and numerous conference presentations with a focus on college mental health and on consultation practice. Dr. Cooper is currently a Member-at-Large of the APA Board of Directors. His teaching expertise is in the areas of consultation theory and process, group therapy, counselor training, treatment of addictive disorders, and health psychology.

The Society for the Advancement of Psychotherapy (Division 29 of the American Psychological Association) aims to advance the science, teaching, and practice of psychotherapy. The Society is committed to preserving and expanding psychotherapy, advancing the evidence-based for psychotherapy and psychotherapeutic relationships, as well as making the benefits of psychotherapy accessible to all. The Society is a community of practitioners, scholars, researchers, teachers, health care specialists, and students who are devoted to the advancement of the art and science of psychotherapy.
