Daniel Payne has extensive work experience in the music industry. Daniel is currently the Director of Creative & Licensing at Soho Music, a role they have held since August 2022. Before that, they were the Head of Music Supervision & Licensing at Soho Music from September 2015 to August 2022.
Prior to their role at Soho Music, Daniel was the Director of Creative & Licensing at Red Moth Music from August 2014 to May 2018. Daniel also worked as the Creative & Business Development Manager at Soundtree Music from March 2014 to July 2014.
Before their roles in creative and licensing, Daniel worked at soundlounge from September 2006 to February 2014. During their time there, they served as the Head of Licensing & Account Manager. Their responsibilities included providing synchrnisation, rights clearance, and creative music and sound solutions for clients across all media. Daniel also managed key client relationships, handled financial and contractual administration, and identified new revenue streams.
Prior to soundlounge, Daniel worked as an Artist Manager at 365 Artists from August 2004 to September 2006. Their role involved managing client and music industry relationships, accounting and distribution, and developing business strategies.
Daniel's early career included roles at Jive Records, where they served as an A&R Manager from November 2001 to August 2003, and at Zomba Publishing, where they were an A&R Manager from May 2000 to November 2001. Daniel also worked at Universal Music Publishing Group as an A&R Manager from February 1996 to April 2000. In this role, they ran the creative department, managed a record label, and oversaw a catalogue of bands, producers, and songwriters.
Daniel Payne attended Kelsey Park School in Kent from 1986 to 1989. Daniel then pursued a BTEC National Certificate in Graphic Design & Technology at Kingsway College in Clerkenwell, London from 1989 to 1990.
