Michael McCourt

Michael McCourt is an accomplished aerospace engineer with extensive experience in stress analysis and engineering leadership. Currently serving as Group Lead at both Virgin Galactic and The Spaceship Company since September 2019, McCourt leverages a strong background in static, fatigue, and damage tolerance analysis developed during a decade-long tenure at Spirit AeroSystems, where responsibilities included analyzing primary and secondary structures for major commercial aircraft manufacturers. McCourt holds a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Wichita State University and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University.
