Since our founding in 1977, The Spring has provided sanctuary and services to more than 60,000 abused adults and their children.

The Spring is the Department of Children and Families (DCF) certified Domestic Violence Center for Hillsborough County. We are one of the largest of Florida’s 42 certified domestic violence centers and the first domestic violence agency in the United States to have an accredited on-site school for resident children.

The Spring’s programs and services help victims of domestic violence rebuild their lives and raise awareness to prevent domestic violence from occurring.

Mission: To prevent domestic violence, protect victims and promote change in lives, families, and communities.

Our program philosophy is to provide a safe haven for families utilizing an empowerment-based approach. We give victims safe refuge, time to heal, and encouragement to move toward a self-determined life. Participants have time to consider options and make independent choices to move forward in a peaceful life. All services are free of charge.

The Case Management and Client Support team at The Spring of Tampa Bay provides comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence, helping them rebuild their lives. This team conducts needs assessments, develops personalized safety and recovery plans, and offers ongoing support and advocacy. They work closely with clients to secure safe housing, access legal resources, and obtain necessary social services. Additionally, they provide crisis intervention and therapeutic support to ensure the wellbeing and empowerment of clients as they transition towards independent, violence-free lives.
