Kitara Smith

Kitara Smith is currently serving as Chapter President for the Student National Medical Association, where responsibilities include coordinating chapter activities, overseeing officer duties, and seeking volunteering opportunities. With prior experience as a Research Assistant and Ophthalmic Technician at Woolfson Eye Institute, and as an Ophthalmic Technician/Medical Assistant at Omni Eye Services, Kitara has developed a strong background in eye care and patient interaction. Additionally, Kitara's earlier roles, including as a Family Medicine Scribe at Aquity Solutions and Emergency Room Scribe at ScribeAmerica, highlight expertise in medical documentation and patient communication. Alongside a diverse work history that includes customer service and research positions, Kitara is pursuing a Doctor of Medicine degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine, having previously earned a Master's degree in Pathology and Molecular Medicine from Tulane University and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Linguistics from Emory University.
