Habiba Hopson is a Senior Curatorial Assistant at Studio Museum in Harlem, having begun this role in November 2021 after serving as Curatorial Assistant for the Permanent Collection. Prior experience includes an internship at Cultural Counsel in arts and culture public relations, and a position as an Incoming Fulbright English Teaching Assistant, which was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Habiba also held positions at The Institute of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, managing artist-led projects and engaging in archiving efforts; The Jewish Museum, contributing to a virtual internship and pre-exhibition research; Fort Gansevoort, where installation and public engagement for an artist's exhibition took place; and Occidental College, facilitating a figure drawing course. Additional internships include roles at MoMA PS1, focusing on diversity and inclusion strategies, The Frick Collection, where gallery talks were developed, and Central Talent Booking as a talent booking intern. Habiba holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Spanish from Occidental College.
