Ryan Bird

Ryan Bird has over 15 years of experience in the education sector, primarily working in student unions. Ryan started their career in 2006 at Reading University Students' Union as a Trustee and Vice President of Education. Ryan then moved on to various roles at Bristol Students' Union, where they served as the Head of Student Engagement and later as the Education and Representation Manager/Student Engagement Manager. In 2016, they became the Chief Executive of Oxford University Students' Union, responsible for the overall direction, strategy, and management of the organization. Ryan then held the same position at Reading University Students' Union before joining The SU, University of Bath as the Chief Executive in 2023. In addition to their experience in student unions, Ryan has also worked in teaching enhancement at the University of Reading and gained customer service and team leadership skills at Tesco.

From 2020 to 2022, Ryan attended Bayes Business School where they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Charity Accounting & Financial Management.

Between 2009 and 2011, Ryan studied at the University of the West of England, completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with a focus on the field of Education.

From 2003 to 2006, Ryan attended the University of Reading, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Human and Physical Geography. Ryan achieved a second-class honours (2:1) in their degree.

Between 2000 and 2002, Ryan was enrolled at Richard Huish College. During this period, they completed their A Levels, focusing on the subjects of Geography, Design, Environmental Science, and Physics.
