Kara Lee

Director, Development at The Summit Center

Kara Lee is the current Director of Development at The Summit Center. Kara has also previously held the title of Director of Development at The Buffalo Zoo from April 2018 to October 2019. Kara has also been a Senior Development Director at SPCA Serving Erie County from June 2016 to April 2018, as well as an Event Coordinator from October 2013 to June 2016. Kara's experience also includes Maddie's Pet Rescue Project Coordinator, overseeing all aspects of a $5 million grant involving six organizations, including reporting, strategic planning, budgeting, and preparation of financial statements. Kara has also been a Humane Educator, designing and executing humane themed lesson plans for elementary school students in the Buffalo School District. Prior to their work in the non-profit sector, Kara was a Sr. Convention Manager at Marriott from January 1999 to December 2002, and an Event Manager at Washington Marriott from June 1998 to November 1999.

Kara Lee first earned a Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management from Canisius College. Kara then pursued a Master's degree in Childhood Education from the same school. Finally, Kara Lee obtained certification from CFRE International in CFRE Certification.
