Cliston Brown has a extensive work experience in communications and public affairs. Cliston began their career as a Staff Writer for The Times of Northwest Indiana in 1995 and later worked as a Reporter for Inside Counsel. In 2001, they served as the Director of Communications for U.S. Representative Pete Visclosky before joining the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America as their Director of Public Affairs and Media Relations. In 2007, Brown became the Director of Public Affairs for the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America, where they focused on media strategy and outreach. Cliston then moved on to the Surplus Line Association of California, where they held the positions of Vice President, Communications and Government Relations, and Vice President of Public Affairs. In these roles, they were responsible for executive communications, media relations, legislative and regulatory strategies, and internal and external communications programs.
