Alastair Smart is a seasoned Arts Editor and Art Critic with extensive experience in the media industry, currently serving at the Telegraph Media Group since December 2008 as Arts Editor of The Daily Telegraph. In this role, Alastair manages a team of 20 journalists, editors, and writers, overseeing the daily Arts agenda for a readership of 1.7 million, while also responding to the fast-paced news cycle. Previously, Alastair held the position of Arts Editor for The Sunday Telegraph, managing a team of 12 and contributing to the weekly Arts magazine, 'Seven.' Earlier career roles include Deputy Arts Editor and Arts Assistant at The Sunday Telegraph, as well as a Junior Reporter at La Nazione. Alastair holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Classics from the University of Cambridge, a Master’s Degree in Latin American art from Universidad Veracruzana, and a Postgraduate diploma in Print Journalism from City St George’s, University of London.
