Derek Seume has extensive work experience in various roles related to HR analytics, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. Derek currently works as the Lead HR Analyst at The Telegraph, where they are responsible for people analytics strategy, designing metrics and visualizations, data modeling, process improvement, and talent and D&I strategy development. Prior to this, they co-founded a consultancy firm called Consultancy for Change, where they specialized in audits, data analysis, strategy development, and impact measurement for DEI initiatives. Derek also worked at City & Guilds in multiple roles, including Senior Manager of DEI, People Analytics & Insights Lead, HRIS Transformation Technology Lead, HR Data & Systems Manager, HR Operations Manager, and various business analysis positions. Throughout their career, Derek has demonstrated expertise in HR analytics, strategy development, data analysis, and process improvement.

Derek Seume holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Modern Language Studies (French/Spanish/German) from the University of Nottingham, which they obtained from 1995 to 1999. Derek also has a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Literary Translation (French/Spanish) from the University of Exeter, which they acquired in 2001-2002.
