John Butler

John Butler serves as the President and CEO of Akebia Therapeutics and holds the position of Chairperson at Kidney Care Partners. Additionally, John Butler is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the American Kidney Fund and previously acted as Chief Executive Officer of Inspiration Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. John's prior roles include serving as President of Rare Diseases and as President of Cardiometabolic and Renal Disease at Genzyme. John Butler holds an MBA in Marketing from Baruch College and a BA in Chemistry from Manhattan University.
