Paula Ragan

Paula Ragan, Ph.D., is the Founder, President, and CEO of X4 Pharmaceuticals, playing a pivotal role since its establishment in 2014, including successfully raising over $300 million in capital for the company's development initiatives. Previously, Paula served as Managing Partner at Ragan Consulting LLC, providing strategic consulting for biotechnology firms. Paula's career at Genzyme, a Sanofi Company, featured roles as Senior Director of Rare Disease and Endocrine Businesses, overseeing global supply chain operations, and as Senior Director of Corporate Development, leading strategic licensing and M&A efforts. Additional experience includes senior roles in business development at Hydra Biosciences, Oscient Corp., and Celera Corporation, as well as a post-doctoral research position at Harvard Medical School. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a Master of Science in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from Boston University, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University.
