Matt Ewalt

Matt Ewalt's work experience includes being the Director of Events and Live Journalism at The Texas Tribune since March 2023. Prior to this, they held various roles at Chautauqua Institution, including Vice President / Emily and Richard Smucker Chair for Education from September 2018 to March 2023, Chief of Staff from August 2017 to September 2018, Associate Director of Education and Youth Services from January 2014 to August 2017, Director of Communications from January 2012 to January 2014, and Editor of The Chautauquan Daily from November 2006 to January 2014. Before working at Chautauqua Institution, they were a News Editor at Warren Times Observer from January 2006 to November 2006 and a Staff Writer from October 2004 to January 2006.

Matt Ewalt completed their education at Carnegie Mellon University. Matt began their undergraduate studies in 1997 and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Professional Writing in 2002. Following this, they pursued further education at the same institution and earned a Master of Arts degree in Literary and Cultural Studies in 2003.
