Stephen Simpson

Stephen Simpson is an experienced journalist specializing in mental health reporting, currently holding a position at The Texas Tribune since February 2023. Prior to this role, Stephen worked as a politics reporter for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, covering significant political issues and the Arkansas Supreme Court from September 2018 to June 2023. Additional reporting experience includes serving as a cops and courts reporter for The Jonesboro Sun and a general reporter for the Pine Bluff Commercial from September 2015 to June 2023. Stephen also contributed to the University of Central Arkansas Sports Department as a video technician from August 2010 to June 2023, where responsibilities included filming and editing sports events. Stephen holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Central Arkansas, earned in 2014.
