Wienke Giezeman has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in different companies. Wienke is the CEO and Co-founder of The Things Industries, where they provide LoRaWAN products and services for IoT solutions. Prior to this, they were the Initiator of The Things Network, creating abundant data connectivity for IoT. Wienke also founded Startups for Net Neutrality, advocating for an equal internet. Wienke is a Co-Founder and CEO of The Smiths, and has served as a Mentor at Rockstart. Wienke has also contributed to innovation and video on demand at Sanoma, and was a Co-Founder of WappZapp.TV, which was later acquired by Sanoma. Additionally, they worked as a Project Manager at Adyen, a Product Manager at XS4ALL Internet BV, and an IT Consultant and IT Architect at KPN.

Wienke Giezeman completed their Bachelor's degree in Information Science from De Haagse Hogeschool / The Hague University of Applied Sciences, from the year 2000 to 2004. Wienke then pursued their Master of Science (MSc) in Business Informatics from Utrecht University, from the year 2005 to 2007. Prior to these degrees, they attended Sint Maartens College Voorburg from 1994 to 2000, although their degree name and field of study from this institution are not specified.
