Maya Demchak-Gottlieb has a diverse range of work experience in the field of journalism and writing. Maya is currently the Editor-in-Chief at The Ticker, where they previously held roles as a News Editor, Copy Editor, Alumni Columnist, and Senior Staff Writer. Maya is also involved in the Society of Professional Journalists, serving as the President of Baruch College's chapter and a Founding Board Member. Additionally, they have worked at Baruch College as a College Assistant and Admissions Representative. Maya has also been involved with TEDxCUNY as the Director of Speakers and Programming and the Macaulay Messenger as a Nation & World Reporter. Maya has contributed to the Macaulay Scribe Creative Writing Magazine as a Writer. Prior to their journalism roles, Maya interned at Young Long Island for Justice with the Indivisible Project and participated in the Writing Works Program as a mentee with Girls Write Now.
