The Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games is the organisation responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2020. The city of Tokyo, Japan's vibrant capital, was elected as Host City of the Games of the XXXII Olympiad at the 125th IOC Session in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on 7 Sept. 2013. The organising committee was launched on 24 Jan. 2014. Spearheaded by former Prime Minister of Japan Yoshiro Mori as organising committee President, the Organising Committee is composed of members from various organisations including the Japanese Olympic Committee, the Japanese Paralympic Committee, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the national government.
