John F. Diener

John F. Diener is a seasoned entrepreneur and executive in the aquaculture and AgriTech industries, currently serving as Co-Founder and CEO of Vertical Oceans since August 2020, where sustainable seafood is produced using innovative vertical aqua towers. Alongside this role, John is an Investment Committee member for The Trendlines Group, focusing on AgriTech investments and also mentors startups at AgFunder. Previously, John held significant leadership positions, including Chief Operating Officer at AgriProtein, and Managing Director at Gold Coin Aqua Group. John has extensive experience in corporate development and strategy from roles at The Zuellig Group, Zuellig Pharma, and PowerBrand HK Ltd, as well as a long tenure as Vice President and Managing Director at Monitor Group in China. Academic credentials include an AB in Economics from the University of Chicago, a Master of Science in Sustainable Aquaculture from the University of St Andrews, and participation in an Executive Program at Singularity University.
