Caroline O'Boyle is the AVP, Illinois State Director at The Trust for Public Land. Caroline has dedicated their career to public service, working in various leadership roles in the arts, education, and environment sectors.

Caroline began their career in 1987 as the Director of Career Beginnings at Columbia College Chicago. In this role, Caroline provided career development services and guidance to students. Caroline then moved on to the Chicago Park District where they served as the Director of Environment, Culture and Special Events from 1997-2008. In this role, Caroline was responsible for programming and events at over 500 parks across Chicago.

In 2009, Caroline took on two new roles: Manager of Education Programs for the Burnham Plan Centennial celebration and Deputy Commissioner for the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events. As Deputy Commissioner, Caroline oversaw a team of curators responsible for exhibitions and events at Millennium Park and the Chicago Cultural Centers.

In 2012, Caroline became the Executive Director of Free Street Theater, a legacy theater company in Chicago. Caroline led turnaround efforts at Free Street Theater, rebuilding the board, attracting new funders, and implementing a new artistic vision. Caroline served as Executive Director until 2016.

In their current role as AVP, Illinois State Director at The Trust for Public Land, Caroline is responsible for leading the organization's efforts to create parks and protect land in Illinois.

Caroline O'Boyle completed their MAT at Columbia College Chicago and their BS at Northwestern University.
