Jared Ragland is the Senior Director, Policy, APAC at The United States Information Technology Office. Jared has also worked as the Commercial Service Officer - Detailee at the United States & Foreign Commercial Service/United States Patent and Trademark Office from July 2012 to September 2013. In this capacity, they supported the OPEA's China team during the summer of 2013. Jared also drafted a major speech on balancing innovation and competition through IPR in the biopharmaceutical sector which was delivered by the Acting USPTO Director to students, faculty and business representatives at the China Pharmaceutical University in Nanjing, China on September 2. During their time with the USPTO, they also supported Director Rea's September China visit, participated in refining USG proposals for the upcoming Vice Minister-level bilateral dialog on IPR, advised on comments to draft Chinese legislation and policy developments, and provided research and support for the USPTO's China Resource Center.

Jared Ragland completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Arizona, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. Jared then went on to complete their Doctor of Philosophy in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Washington.
