Matt Stratton

Matt Stratton is an accomplished academic and technical director with extensive experience in theatrical production. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor and Technical Director at The University of Alabama since August 2020, Matt previously held a similar role at Vanderbilt University from August 2009 to August 2020, where responsibilities included instructing courses in theatrical production, managing departmental productions, and overseeing student projects. Prior experience includes positions as Technical Director at McLeod Summer Playhouse and Carpenter for both McLeod Summer Playhouse and Glimmerglass Opera. Matt holds a Master of Fine Arts in Scenic Technology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a degree in Liberal Arts, Theater from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.
