Melissa Fortson is an experienced instructional technologist and educator with a strong background in library and information sciences, focusing on the integration of technology in education and accessibility. Since August 2010, Melissa has been affiliated with The University of Alabama, holding various positions, including Instructional Technologist, Adjunct Instructor, and Assistant Director for Education & Outreach at the Center for Instructional Technology. Melissa's expertise includes training on technology accessibility, conducting audits, and promoting innovative instructional practices. Previous roles include serving as a Senior Digital Accessibility Specialist at Knowbility and various librarian positions at University Libraries, Virginia College, and Tuscaloosa Public Library. Melissa holds a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, with a concentration in Assistive Technology, a Master of Library and Information Studies, and a Bachelor of Arts in English.
