Visiting Professor Of Military Studies at University of Buckingham

Matthias Strohn is a distinguished academic and military professional with extensive experience in military history and strategic studies. Currently serving as a Visiting Research Professor at the Center for Intelligence and Security Studies at the German Armed Forces University since December 2024, Strohn also holds the position of Head of Historical Analysis at The Centre for Historical Analysis and Conflict Research, supporting the British Army since January 2017. At the University of Buckingham, Strohn has been a Visiting Professor of Military Studies since October 2012, focusing on Modern War Studies and supervising postgraduate research. A German Army Officer with the rank of Oberst d. R since 2007, Strohn previously lectured on Military History at the UK Ministry of Defence from January 2006 to December 2016. Academic credentials include an M.St. and DPhil in Modern European History/Military History from the University of Oxford, alongside a Level 7 qualification in Strategic Leadership and Management from the Chartered Management Institute.
